I have a little Canon point-and-shoot camera that I got for Christmas last year, and I really love it! But after playing with it and using it all the time and not feeling 100% satisfied, I started looking at cameras again. Higher-end ones this time! Like DSLRs. For a few months now, my eyes were on the Nikon D5100 (and they still kind of are), but just recently I discovered that the camera market's opened up an "inbetween" kind of category! Which is perfect for me, I think, because I'm not an extreme photography buff, nor a professional, but I'm passionate enough about it to float above being a casual photo-taker and want professional-looking shots. So how great is that!
Now that my eyes have been opened to this inbetween category of cameras, I've been researching non-stop. I started with Nikon and Canon first, since they're the two names I'm most familiar with, and then sprouted out from there! And after many comparisons and ensuring a price range I'm more comfortable with ($400ish), I had my sights set on the lovely little Nikon P7700. It has a $50 step over what I was hoping to pay, but gosh, it sure seemed nice! I spent hours comparing it to its competitors, and it seemed to beat out every single one of them. Then, I decided to read some consumer reviews, and one of the reviews I read mentioned the Samsung EX2F, which wasn't in any of the competitors lists for the Nikon camera, and WOW!! Wow. It was kind of a love at first sight thing.

A few months ago, I'd planned on dropping about $700 on the Nikon D5100 with a 50mm lens with money I'd saved up from working, and that plan was all ready to go! I was hoping to have my baby by summertime. But, as it turns out, my school refuses to cooperate with me on my work study, so I had to give up on that if I wanted a new camera anytime soon... I'm glad I at least took the time to look into other options, because wow! The Samsung camera is gorgeous, and so well-priced. The Nikon P7700 is nice, too, and serves as a great backup in case I can't buy the Samsung camera!

What a lovely baby. Since it's $400, I can ask for it for Christmas from my dad and his girlfriend. I love cameras, and I love taking pictures. I love preserving every little moment and pretty thing I see.
